When we connect to our higher self (in yoga we call this at-man) instead of living in your worries you will become increasingly grounded and present. This is a practice and takes time to gently make it a habit.

When you notice your mind is jumping from thought to thought or you begin to worry and over analysis a situation. Try the follow steps:

ree

1. Stop and breathe - Close your eyes if you feel comfortable and inhale for the count of 4 breaths and exhale for the count of 4 - repeat up to 5 times.

2. Begin to notice and name three objects near you

3. Begin to notice and name three sounds you hear

4. Become aware of your body and name 3 body parts

Try practicing this every time you start to worry excessively, This task will bring you into the very present moment and support you to calm your mind.
